SETUP


Step 1. Connections


Connect the Mixdeck with your computer using the provided USB cable.
Connect your speakers to the rear Master Output using proper RCA cables and your Headphones to the front socket.

Step 2. Drivers


Install the required drivers from https://www.numark.com/product/mixdeck
Available for both Windows and Mac

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials.

A Pro Infinity or a Pro Subscription License is required. http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Detection Window
A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ.

Click on the "Use Soundcard" button so that VirtualDJ will apply the pre-defined audio configuration (speakers need to be connected to the Master Output of the unit)

Click to OK



Make sure that both channels on the mixer section of the MixDeck are set to PC and you have toggled each CD player to MIDI mode via the SOURCE button.

The Mixdeck is now ready to operate with VirtualDJ
 

MIXER CONTROLS

1 CROSSFADER
Blends audio signals from left and right decks
2 VOLUME
Adjust Volume Output for Left and Right deck
3 POD VOLUME
Adjust the Output Volume of the iPod Audio Input
4 SOURCE
Select Source for the left/right Mixer Channels. Set to PC to control VirtualDJ Decks
5 CUE SOURCE SELECTOR
Select the Input that will be routed to the Headphones Channel. Select A/B for software decks (depends on the PFL/CUE buttons), Master to preview Master Output or iPod to preview the iPod Source
6 CUE GAIN
Adjust Headphones Channel Volume
7 CUE CROSSFADER
Blends Audio signal between Left and Right Channels in Headphones
8 EQ BASS
Adjust Equalizer Low (Bass) frequencies
9 EQ MID
Adjust Equalizer Mid (Middle) frequencies
10 EQ HIGH
Adjust Equalizer High (Treble) frequencies
11 GAIN
Adjust the pre-fader Gain applied to Left or Right deck
12 BOOTH VOL
Adjust the Output Volume of the Booth Output
13 MASTER VOL
Adjust the Output Volume of the Master Output
14 POD CONTROLS
iPOD Navigation Controls



The entire mixer section of the Numark Mixdeck does not send MIDI signals to the software and works as analogue dj mixer, therefor none of the mixer section controls will control the VirtualDJ internal mixer and no movements will be visible on the GUI
 

DECK CONTROLS

15 CUE
Sets a Temporary Cue when paused and plays track from Cue. Jumps track to Cue point when playing
16 PAUSE
Pauses deck when playing. Cycles through Hotcues when paused
17 PLAY
Plays-stutter track
18 SCRATCH
Toggles between Scratch (Vinyl) and Bend (CD) modes for the Jogwheel
19 EJECT
When in Software mode, swaps left/right decks . When used on the left side swaps control between Decks 1 and 3 and when used on Right side, swaps control between Decks 2 and 4
20 START TIME
Define the time will take for the track to catch-up full speed when played
21 STOP TIME
Define the time will take for the track to completely stop when paused
22 TAP
Manual Beat Tap
23 REV/BLEEP
Set switcher to Reverse to play track in reverse. While switcher is set to Bleep, track will play in reverse and when released track will resume to the position it would have been if never pressed.
24 JOG
Touch-sensitive jogwheel for scratch, bend or seek, depending on the selected mode
25 SEARCH
Set Jogwheel to Seek (Search) mode for fast track searching
26 PITCH BEND
Temporary slow-down/speed-up track. Tempo will resume to the value designated by the Pitch fader when released
27 PITCH
Adjust track's tempo
28 RANGE
Select a -/+% range for the Pitch fader (5%, 12%, 25% and 100%) . Hold down for more than 2 seconds to enable/disable Keylock (Master Tempo)
29 FX
Turn the selected Effect On/off
30 WET/DRY
Adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect
31 PARAMETER
Adjust the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect
32 FX SELECT
Slide to left/right to select the previous/next Effect
33 TIME/SOURCE
TIME: Toggle between Remain and Elapsed Time mode for the Time LCD Display
SOURCE : Make sure the MIDI is selected to control a VirtualDJ Deck
34 LOOPIN
Set a Loop In (Entry) point for a manual loop
35 LOOPOUT
Set a Loop Out (Exit) point for a manual loop or exit loop when enabled
36 RELOOP
Triggers the last enabled loop. Exit loop when loop is enabled. Set Jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode when MODE is pressed
37 LOOP SHIFT
Slide to left/right to half/double the size of the Loop
38 BUT 1
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 1
Delete Hotcue 1 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 1 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
39 BUT 2
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 2
Delete Hotcue 2 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 2 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
40 BUT 3
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 3
Delete Hotcue 3 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 3 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
41 MODE/REC
REC : Enable Save mode for BUTS 1 to 3
When MODE is pressed, REC button toggles between Sampler and Hotcue modes
42 RECALL
Open/close File Info window (Tag Editor) for the loaded track
43 BACK
Set focus to Folders List. Open/close subfolder when focus in on Folders list
44 TRACK
Scrolls through files or folders
Push to load the selected track. When in Folders list set focus to Songs list if foldercontains tracks or select next folder/subfolder if not
45 LCD DISPLAY
Displays Track's info such as Artist, title, BPM, Pitch, Time and a Progress bar
